ADVENTURES IN TEXTURE #2

Today we'll take a close up look at Canadian artist Maya Eventov's gorgeous 36X48" abstract. You can see the different layers of thin washes creating that etherial misty vibe. Then Eventov layers the paint on thick over top of those washes. She drags her palette knife through those thick layers, giving great texture. The eye moves across the light pastel background, guided by the shapes and lines of the rich jewel tones, creating movement and life. Needless to say, Eventov does not sell her work on the reproduction market -- how on earth could this stunning technique be reproduced just with printer ink?!
